He then served with Transport Canada as a Civil Aviation Safety Inspector and as Superintendent - Regional Airlines group. During his tenure as an inspector David was assigned Primary Maintenance Inspector responsible for Canada’s second largest air carrier. June 2008 Following 24 weekly air cargo freighter (B 757) flights between Gander and Iceland connecting to various European Union markets, partners of the “cool supply chain” Fly Fresh Freight, Icelandair Cargo and the Provincial Department of Fisheries of Newfoundland and Labrador terminated Phase 2 of the trans-Atlantic program development. Phase 2 was viewed a success. Phase 3 negotiations have begun and will be announced at the appropriate time. May 2008 Fly Fresh Freight and the Government of St. Pierre and Miquelon have contracted the services of Air St. Pierre to provide air cargo connection traffic to and from the airport of St. Pierre and Gander Newfoundland and Labrador. April 2008 In support of the recent commencement of air cargo operations from SPM connecting to and from the international air services provided in Gander Newfoundland, Fly Fresh Freight has appointed Monique Walsh as agent for Fly Fresh Freight. Monique is a respected business entrepreneur and citizen of St. Pierre and Miquelon. In addition she serves as the head of the region’s business association. April 2008 In the continued development of improved direct air cargo access to the European Union, Fly Fresh Freight has entered into an agreement with the French Islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon (SPM). Utilizing the services of Air St. Pierre, Fly Fresh Freight in partnership with the SPM government, the shippers and producers of the area provides weekly ATR 42 air cargo freighter services connecting in Gander with the weekly B 737 services to and from the EU. This phase 1 of the agreement is expected to operate throughout May of 2008. This agreement provides excellent exporting and importing logistics services for the population of SPM. This agreement is also supportive of the recent M.O.U. signed by the Government of St. Pierre and Miquelon and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. March 2008 PAL is a multi-faceted aviation firm including, passenger/cargo scheduled and charter services, Maritime Surveillance, Aviation Maintenance Services, Software Engineering Services, and FBO operations. The selection of Atlantis Aviation (consulting division) to undertake a market analysis is a result of previous collaborations between PAL and Atlantis Aviation. February 2008 Fly Fresh Freight in partnership with the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Fisheries, the provinces shippers and producers launched weekly B 757 air cargo freighter operations. Utilizing Icelandair Cargo, the service provides direct access to a wide range of European destinations served by Icelandair Cargo connecting through Iceland. This second phase of development in the development of year round air cargo operations will operate from February to June of 2008. January 2008 Norm Richard accompanied by Andrew Collins of PF Collins in concert with SODEPAR of St. Pierre and Miquelon conducted a business trade mission to the French Islands focused on logistics challenges. This effort followed a successful trade mission to the Normandy Region of France in November 2007. Ongoing discussions and business development initiatives continue, including the exploration of the SPM market utilizing the newly instituted air cargo freighter operation from Gander NL to Europe with Fly Fresh Freight, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and Icelandair Cargo.
